Wish we had more to cherish

How I hated the thought of marrying the prospect my parents had decided for me. Argued for different reasons, because he didn’t have much qualities I wanted in my husband. But like most of Indians girls do, I too married the man of my parents surrendering myself to the destiny. We argued each day for all valid and not so valid reasons. I didn’t like the way he would park things for later and he didn’t like why I wanted things to happen there and then.  He never praised whatsoever I did, cooked or arranged. He never wished to celebrate anniversary or birthday. Always escaped from planning or gifting, as we didn’t have much money to spare and he said he is not good at deciding things. This continued until I found he had an affair before marriage I didn’t know. When confronted, he didn’t to confess or explain, making things only difficult.  Things changed for good when our daughter was born, the best things which could happen to us at the time. All was going for good, jobs change...

Everyday should be Father’s day.. but does that happen?

We say rather than celebrating on a special day , everyday should be like Mother's Day, Father's Day or Valentine's Day.. and that these are just created to make business by companies like Archies and hallmark. But today I feel, they already knew that lives are going to be too busy to even remember your loved ones so at least these days will remind us and we show our love to them, because we don't do it everyday.. it is true that Love can only be felt but not truly until expressed in words and gestures..  Spend time with your loved ones, you mean world to them.. express love and don't hide behind your excuses.. if you really love someone you don't have to take out time, you make time to be with them..

Are women not Humans or they don't have rights?

Why these barbaric monsters not burnt alive after cutting off their genitals.. what will really wake up the judiciary or government or just humanity in them that they dare to punish these barbarians in the way they deserve.. simply putting them behind bars and leave the women and girls wishing them to be hanged doesn't serve the purpose.. What is stopping the powerful ones in taking an action which can shake them with horror..  Laws for rapists can't be made with a feeling of humanity in the mind of law makers because the ones who rape are not humans themselves.. Humans can't be so cruel... Which incident will be that rare incident which will trigger the much needed changes in the obsolete  laws... it didn't trigger when a young lady was brutally raped and almost murdered .. we just called her Nirbhaya and kept hearing about a new victim each day without making the offenders realise how heinous their act was, prison is just giving them a safer place to stay and ...

Respect it or Leave it!

In Bangalore for little more than 7 years now, but it feels like home to me more than the place I belonged. Spent first 24 years of my life at a place where I was made to feel aloof and dejected  because I didn't look like one among them or didn't speak their local dialect but it is part of my identity that I belong there... When I moved here, it gave me all chances and respect I always needed to build my own identity full of confidence without making me feel that I don't belong here. Even for my days of struggle I feel proud about myself because not everyone can survive that phase.. but the spirit of this city kept me going. Bangalore a few years back already had sufficient people to put itself on the world map for all good reasons. Anyone who got added to this folk just made it populous and usually this chunk complains about Bangalore more than others. And I want to tell them loud and clear "Respect it or leave it". I am no exception, and so many of...
